Like all business and industrial segments, the construction sector was severely disrupted by the epidemic's two-year interruptions and is still dealing with its aftereffects. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that in July 2022, the unemployment rate in the construction sector was 3.5%. It was last this low in September 2019, which was roughly six months before the United States saw the beginnings of the COVID-19 pandemic's initial lockdowns.
